2 out of 5 stars No Sound Streaming Capture Ability   September 21, 2009
William F. Stevens (Thailand)

I have been happy with this board now for two years. But lately, I tried capturing audio from the Internet and am unable to do so. There is no way to use "Stereo-Mix" for the sound source with the Sigmatel sound drivers. It appears Intel deliberately had Sigmatel leave this option out. Only three solutions available to user, Mic in, Line in and Line out. And because there is few PCI slots, a sound card addition is difficult.

You need this to be a written review...lol. I would crash the servers with people running away from their monitors.
This product was beyond compare in my opinion. I used this board in my own build, No overclocking, although it will overclock quite well, because I was trying to build a problem-free computer I can count on to have working all the time, and with no blue screens -ever. I got what I was looking for. If it wasn't for the idiot that I allowed to work on it I would never have required purchasing a replacement. The Mac idiot in those commercial is not talking about my builds. The money I spent on TrendMicro Internet Security 2009 has defeated those virus's and worms completely, although a little intelligent thought in what gets downloaded in the first place doesn't hurt, was a small price that easily deferred the Mac garbage you pay twice as much for at a store...but I BUILT exactly the computer I WANTED... WITH MY PROGRAMS. I can take advantage of programs when they first come out, not wait for the Mac God to allow me to play there. This board is solid, well featured and was state of the art at the time I bought it. Great choice IMO.

So far I have found this product to be garbage.

I bought the retail board from DealStop. The boards PCI-E slots didn't work properly (no video with a pci-e 2 card) DealStop RMA'd the board (thankyou DealStop for that).
The second board has working PCI-E slots, however the onboard floppy controller doesn't work, the built in raid controller sometimes works and sometimes says it doesn't exist. And the bios seems to go off for a walk occasionally.
DealStop doesn't even want to deal with it anymore as they would prefer I contact Intel.(can't blame them to much, as Ive had to order more parts ie: video cards, floppy drives, more new cables, another processor, ram ect. to troubleshoot these problems with, its taken about 3 months and about $500.00 so far.)

So, now to deal with Intel's support.
Maybe I'll just cut my losses and take up something less costly and frustrating ...like stock speculation or investing in icecubes for poor eskimos.

5 out of 5 stars Intel desktop board D975xbxlkr intel 975x socket   March 13, 2009

The 975 is an excellent board and the price was good. The company shipped it fast and I was up and running in no time. However and this is no reflection on the company, but if you are a first time builder working with a socket 775 chip. I do caution you concerning the force it takes to get the fan seated. The board will actually bend a little from the force you have to apply to seat all four connection points. I also suggest that you buy a up grade to the stock fan as these chips run hot. all in all I will be buying from this company when I build my next monster as they have good product and great customer service. THank You for the effort.
